The Star Wars Litter
This combination was made to first of all get nice herding dogs and thus nice working dogs in general. Focus has been put on finding a male with lots of social skills and with as little as possible interest in guarding. This male is environment safe and is not bothered by sounds/noise.
Qwick is very similar to our female Billie. To me, his lines are very interesting as that's where we can find legendary working Aussies!
9 puppies were born in this litter. 4 females and 6 males in all varieties of colors, and all with long tails. The litter has defining properties when it comes to tugging, hunting and ball interests. If they grabbed a toy they did not let go but stubbornly held on to it and pulled as hard as they could.
They also enjoyed digging, playing and running fast. No puppy escaped from the pen, unlike the previous litter. The Star Wars litter are way too good at biting. All except for Vincent got to feel their sharp teeth more than once. They were all nice to Vincent however. 8 out of 9 puppies were incredibly social and loved strangers but one of them thought a little bit more before greeting them just as intensely. One of them were also a lot more loud while the others were silent while resting. The loud one complained if he didn't get as he wanted and could bark in a determinend way if games did not end in his favor.
They are very independent, intense and tough in general, but with a great ability to please. They have a lot in them and I'd be surprised unless they all show a lot of herding instinct and drive. Only one puppy showed a slight guarding instict and they probably do not have much of it in them. On the other hand can they most likely be very determined and stubborn.
They have inherited their father's not too straight front legs, bigger bones and large paws, but their front looks better than their mother Fame's and they've inherited both their parents' nice posterior. They will probably grow up to be taller and less compact than their father Qwick. This litter seems to be easy going and have gotten the best of their mother and father. I'm very proud of them and hope they keep developing in the same direction.
